Why Gospel Singer Bernice Offei Went Missing Before Her Death – Ex-Manager Discloses

Kwasi Ernest, former manager of veteran gospel musician Bernice Offei, has revealed that the singer had been battling dementia for nearly five years before her death at the age of 63.

Kwasi Ernest disclosed that the condition had gradually affected the singer’s memory and her ability to perform some routine activities, eventually playing a role in the circumstances surrounding her disappearance before she was found.

Speaking in an interview on Max TV on September 14, 2026, to confirm Bernice Offei’s death, he explained that the progression of the condition sometimes left her confused and unable to remember how to get back home when she went out.

“For four to five years, she had been battling with dementia that affected her brain. When someone is sick of dementia, it affects the daily life of the person,” he explained.

According to Kwasi Ernest, the singer left home during a period when her condition had worsened, making it difficult for her to find her way back.

Her inability to locate her residence eventually led her family to declare her missing.

“She left home and the ailment was triggered, so she couldn’t locate her house. After the initial search by the family wasn’t yielding results, they made the search public and they later found her,” he added.

Following her discovery, Bernice Offei was reportedly taken to a hospital by her family to receive medical care.

Her health, however, continued to deteriorate, and she died on Saturday, September 12, 2026.

He described Bernice Offei as a deeply God-fearing woman whose beliefs were evident in her conduct, noting that she did more than simply preach the Christian message.

According to him, she made a deliberate effort to live by the principles she professed and put her faith into practice in her everyday life.
