The trial involving Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, continued on Monday at the Accra High Court as he and his legal team appeared in connection with the Tano Nimiri Forest Reserve case.

Speaking to journalists ahead of proceedings, counsel for Chairman Wontumi, Lawyer Andy Appiah Kubi, indicated that the defense team was expecting the third prosecution witness to testify before the court.

“We are expecting the third prosecution witness to mount the witness box today,” Lawyer Appiah Kubi told the media.

According to him, the witness expected to testify is the police investigator handling the case.

“He is the investigator in the matter, and we believe he will be presenting the evidence gathered so far,” he stated.

Lawyer Appiah Kubi further disclosed that the prosecution intended to tender all evidence obtained through the Forestry Commission during the day’s proceedings.

“The strategy of the prosecution today is to tender before the court all the evidence gathered through the Forestry Commission,” he added.
