Ghanaian dancehall musician Shatta Wale has commended the UK police and local council for swiftly intervening in the chaos that erupted during the ShattaFest event in the United Kingdom.
According to the SM boss, he had earlier warned his team that the manner in which the event had been planned could attract the attention of the authorities.
Speaking during a TikTok Live on August 2, 2026, Shatta Wale claimed he sensed there were serious issues with the organisation of the event even before he arrived at the venue.
He alleged that the organisers attempted to combine Party in the Park with his annual Shattafest brand, a decision he believes was driven by greed rather than proper planning.
“I told my team, including my wives, that with the way the organisers had planned the event, police would come around. I didn’t even see the set-up yet, but I saw what was going on. Greed will make you do something and you’ll be wondering how you did that,” he said.
The ‘On God’ hitmaker further claimed that the organisers decided to merge Party in the Park with Shattafest, with plans for him to stage his standalone Shattafest edition the following year.
“They just decided that since I would be there, they would merge Party in the Park with Shattafest so that I would do mine next year. People have been complaining about Party in the Park, but I just wanted to help. You already know the agreement we had, but I don’t want to disclose it here,” he stated.
Shatta Wale also accused the organisers of failing to honour parts of their agreement.
He explained that while he took responsibility for travelling to the UK with his wife, the organisers failed to transport his team as agreed.
“It was my part to move myself here and I came with my wife. It was your part to also get my team here,” he shared.
Expressing concern over public safety, the musician said he was relieved that the authorities stepped in before the event could proceed under what he described as unsafe conditions.
He argued that no event should be organised in a manner that could endanger lives simply for financial gain.
“You let people’s children come that they’re coming to Party in the Park, then you want to use Shattafest to cover it up. I thank the UK police, the council and everyone who stopped this show. Why won’t we make the narrations right, and you want some people to come and lose their lives because of what you want to gain?” he questioned.
Shatta Wale also criticised some aspects of the event’s set-up, insisting that his concerts are organised with stricter standards.
“I can’t organise a show and some people will come and be frying kelewele and other foods. If you want to come for my show, eat heavy food from your house,” he added.
