Kumawood Actor Alleges Neglect And Mistreatment By Vivian Jill, Dr Likee

Kumawood actor Kwabena Boakye has made a series of allegations against some of his colleagues in the entertainment industry, claiming that he has been neglected, mistreated, and overlooked despite his loyalty to them over the years.

In a video circulating on social media and sighted by GhanaWeb, the actor, who appeared to be speaking from a bushy location, emotionally opened up about what he alleged were experiences of betrayal and disregard from people he once looked up to in the industry.

According to Kwabena Boakye, actress and content creator Vivian Jill Lawrence no longer treats him with the respect he deserves, despite playing a major role in building his brand and helping him gain recognition in the Kumawood industry.

The actor further alleged that Vivian Jill recently granted an interview during which she made negative remarks about him.

He claimed that such comments deeply hurt him and were among the factors that prompted him to publicly share his frustrations.

“People are too fake. Abrewa, the interview you granted yesterday has really offended me, that’s why I am saying this. It’s the same reason Kwame Borga set a message sometimes ago, telling you that you won’t work with me again, which led me to attacking you and I was branded as disrespectful.

“If after being loyal to you for song long this is how you’re going to treat me, then this is how I will react. Everyone has this same anger within them. You have created a brand like me but you don’t even respect me so every other person in the industry also treats me the same way,” he alleged

Kwabena Boakye also alleged that Vivian Jill has repeatedly failed to support him whenever he faces personal challenges.

According to him, whenever he attempts to discuss issues affecting him, she asks him to contact her later, particularly when they are in public.

However, he claimed that when he subsequently tries to reach her by phone, she does not answer his calls.

He further alleged that while his calls and requests for assistance often go unanswered, Vivian Jill is always eager to contact him whenever his services are needed for content creation, particularly for their YouTube production, Abrewa Mafia.

The actor also made allegations concerning his relationship with comedian and filmmaker Dr. Likee, popularly known as Akabenezer.

According to him, Dr. Likee allegedly made a comment indicating that he did not want to see him around because he found him annoying.

He claimed that the statements left him emotionally hurt and disappointed.

“Likee dared to tell me whatever he wants. He doesn’t even want to see me close to anywhere he stands, and it’s because of my character that I am suffering so much in the industry. Wofa, I love you, but that statement really hurts me,” he expressed

Explaining the circumstances that allegedly led to the tension, Kwabena Boakye recounted an incident on a movie set where someone requested Dr. Likee’s location.

He said he shared the location without any malicious intent because he did not know that Dr. Likee preferred to keep his whereabouts private while filming.

According to him, he later learned that his actions had upset Dr. Likee and subsequently apologized.

However, he alleged that the comedian’s reaction and subsequent comments deeply affected him.

He stated that after returning home, he repeatedly reflected on the incident and struggled to come to terms with what had been said about him.

“Wofa, when you tell us such painful things, you should know we think about them when we get home, and we cry over them. I was really hurt by what you said, but even after that, I still approach you when I see you,” he said

Beyond the alleged professional disputes, Kwabena Boakye claimed that the emotional stress arising from the situation had negatively affected his mental health. He alleged that his blood pressure has become elevated due to the challenges he is currently facing.

In an emotional moment during the video, the actor alleged that if the stress eventually leads to his death, some people within the industry would only show sympathy after he is gone.

He further alleged that such displays of affection would be insincere and motivated by appearances rather than genuine concern.

“You are very wicked people, you’ll lead me to my death and still show up with a blast band to come and mourn me,” he added

Meanwhile, as of the time of filing this report, Vivian Jill Lawrence and Dr. Likee had not publicly responded to the allegations made by Kwabena Boakye in the viral video.
