Founder and leader of the United Front Party (UFP), Nana Agyenim Boateng (GYATABA), has called Lawyer Dr. Henry Kwabena Kokofu a credible and viable candidate who will lead the New Patriotic Party to power in 2028.
The UFP founder made this known during Dr. Kokofu’s constituency tour. According to GYATABA, he believes 2028 will be a sure victory for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) if Kokofu becomes Ashanti Regional Chairman.
“I believe that when we give the power to Chairman Kokofu, in 2028 we will be in power,” he said.
GYATABA spoke about the long-standing influence of the Ashanti Region in Ghana’s elections, noting that a win for the NPP in the region mostly translates into a national win.
He said the region needs Dr. Kokofu for that to happen, as Kokofu has been very consistent in his political career, having been “a polling station executive before, he has been an MP and even a constituency chairman.”
He added, “Kokofu will do for Ashanti Region what he did for Bantama,” recalling the days when Bantama consistently delivered for the NPP while Dr. Kokofu was MP.
GYATABA said the party needs power, “but power is not on a silver platter,” adding that the region is not looking for a chairman: “we are looking for a leader.”
