Bayern Munich winger, Serge Gnabry will miss the 2026 FIFA World Cup after confirming that he has suffered a serious adductor injury.
The winger revealed the news in an emotional message, explaining that the injury has not only ended his season but also his hopes of featuring for the German national team at the World Cup.
“The last few days have been difficult to digest,” Gnabry said, adding that his World Cup dream is now over.
The 30-year-old picked up the injury during training, tearing the adductor muscles in his right thigh. He is expected to be sidelined for several months.
The setback comes at a time when Gnabry had returned to strong form, playing an important role for both Bayern and the national team.
It is a significant blow for Germany ahead of the World Cup, with the winger considered one of their key attacking options.
Despite the disappointment, Gnabry said he will now focus on recovery and aim to return in time for next season.
He also pledged to support the national team from afar, saying he will be backing them throughout the tournament.
