Free SHS: ‘NDC Fighting To Increase Literacy Rate’- NPP Comm. Team Member
A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) communications team, Mr. Victor Osei Opoku says the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have waged war on the free SHS policy to increase literacy rate in the country.
According to him, the NDC believe that, if Ghanaians don’t aquire education and knowledge they can exploit them.
Mr. Osei Opoku on Wontumi Radio/TV Morning Show said that, it is the strategy of the largest opposition party to sabotage the free SHS.
“Free SHS has come to stay. Nana Akufo-Addo and NPP have not said there is no problem on the free SHS. If there is a problem, we should all solve it,” he said.
According to the NPP communications team member, Ghanaians should taunt anyone as a naysayer who will politicize the policy in order to win political power.
He noted that, the policy is not for the rich emphasizing that it has transformed many lives.
Mr. Osei Opoku said that Ghanaians should asses the out come of the policy if NDC members say the free SHS lacks quality.
“The results of the WASSCE have shown that it is under President Akufo-Addo’s regime that the students performed excellently,” he said
Mr. Osei Opoku affirmed that, media houses with the intent to campaign against the free SHS program will not wash.
