Spokesperson for First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo, Sheela Sakyi Oppong, has assured Ghanaians that the issues about allowances refund hasn’t affected her boss.
In an interview on Wontumi TV shortly after the First Lady issued a cheque to refund all allowances that has been paid from 2017 to date, Sheela Sakyi Oppong revealed that the situation hasn’t distracted their focus.
“It hasn’t changed her in anyway. She is focused as Ghana’s First Lady. She is more concerned about the welfare of women and children”, the spokesperson for the First Lady said.
The First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo has fulfilled her pledge to return all allowances paid her from 7th January 2017 to date.
In a statement issued by the Chief Of Staff, it said the Consolidated Bank of Ghana Limited has a received an amount of GHC899,097.84 being the full refund of the allowances.
Part of the release sighted by Wontumionline.com noted that, Rebecca Akufo-Addo is committed to her role as First Lady and is devoted to her charity work of championing the wellbeing of women and children.
