Asokwa MP, MCE Tour Project Sites In Municipality — Task Assembly Men To Monitor Projects

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Asokwa,  Madam Patricia Appiagyei together with the MCE for Asokwa, Chief Akwannuasah Gyimah on Monday morning toured project sites in the Asokwa Municipality.

Accompanied by the constituency executives of the Asokwa NPP,  the two high ranking officials inspected road projects at Atonsu Monaco and Chirapatre Estates.

The team also inspected some drains in the Atonsu Bokro community.

They also toured the ongoing project at the Kumasi South Hospital where the government is putting up a special disease and infection unit.

CHARGE:
Speaking at the Bokro community, Madam Appiagyei wondered why it had to take the MP and MCE to check on choked drains before action was taken to desilt them for easy passage of liquids and rain water.

She noted that the core responsibility of Assembly men and Unit Committee members is to ensure their localities are clean and free from filth.

Madam Appiagyei tasked the people to take their hygiene and environment serious by doing what it takes to make it clean at all times.

The MP noted that once the people cry for projects and they are delivered it is the duty of residents coupled with their leaders to ensure that particular project is maintained to last long.

MCE:
On his part, the MCE for Asokwa, Chief Akwannuasah Gyimah bemoaned the apathetic nature of some residents.

He noted that people, especially traders and roadside sellers litter the environment with careless abandon.

Others also dump refuse in streams and gutters in the communities anyhow,  adding that these are the very things they do that occasion floods in the rainy season.

He also reminded residents that Covid-19 was still lurking and the way they wash their hands and make their environments clean will go a long way to protect them from being infected or contracting same.
