Ghanaian media personality and entrepreneur Michy has sparked conversations online after expressing pride in referring to dancehall star Shatta Wale as her ex-partner.
In a resurfaced interview currently making rounds on social media, Michy, born Michelle Diamond, opened up about her relationship with the award-winning musician while speaking on The Day Show with Berla Mundi.
During the conversation, Michy revealed that although she had always loved singing and entertainment from her school days, it was Shatta Wale who truly discovered and encouraged her musical talent.
“The music was discovered by my Ex, even though I used to sing in school and do entertainment… it feels so good calling him my Ex. I mean, I have the biggest artiste in Ghana as my Ex so I’m proud,” she said amid laughter.
Her statement came after Berla Mundi asked how she feels whenever she refers to the “On God” hitmaker as her ex-boyfriend.
Michy also reflected on her music journey after their breakup, admitting that she initially considered stepping away from music entirely. However, things changed after she was featured on a few songs and received positive reactions from fans during performances.
According to her, the support and admiration she received made her realize there was a genuine audience for her music.
