ZOOMLION GHANA LIMITED REASSURES MMDA FUMIGATION WORKERS OF PAYMENT
OF OUTSTANDING ARREARS
Accra, August 3, 2026 – Management of Zoomlion Ghana Limited observes with grave disquiet,
concerns expressed by workers engaged under the Metropolitan, Municipal and District
Assemblies (MMDAs) Fumigation Project regarding the delay in the payment of their outstanding
salaries.
Management wishes to assure all affected workers that the company fully appreciates the
challenges associated with the delay and remains committed to ensuring that every legitimate
outstanding payment is made as soon as the necessary funds are received.
Over the past 15 years, Zoomlion Ghana Limited has maintained a good record of meeting its
obligations to employees and field operatives of the MMDAs Fumigation Project across the
country. The current situation is therefore an exception rather than the norm and has arisen as a
result of delays in the release of funds under the MMDA Fumigation Project.
Following the delay, the company has remained in continuous dialogue with the Government of
Ghana and the various Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies, working to secure the
release of the outstanding payments due under the contract. These engagements have been
constructive, and we have received assurances that the necessary processes are being finalized
to enable disbursement of the funds.
Management wishes to state clearly, and without reservation, that all arrears owed to our workers
under the project will be settled promptly once these outstanding payments are received.
We are deeply grateful for the patience, understanding and unwavering dedication our workers
have shown throughout this period. We recognise the hardship any delay in payment can cause,
and we do not take their continued commitment for granted. Their tireless efforts have been
instrumental in safeguarding public health through sustained vector control and environmental
sanitation interventions in communities across the country.
Zoomlion also recognizes and respects the constitutional right of workers to express their
concerns peacefully. We take encouragement from the fact that the issues raised reflect a shared
desire to see this matter resolved promptly. The company therefore appeals to all affected
workers to remain calm and to continue placing their confidence in the ongoing engagements
aimed at bringing this matter to a successful conclusion. The company deeply values the strong partnership it has built over the years with the Government
of Ghana, the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies, and its dedicated workforce. It is
through this collaborative relationship that significant public health gains have been achieved, and
Management remains confident that the current challenge will soon be resolved through continued
dialogue and cooperation.
Zoomlion Ghana Limited remains steadfast in its commitment to the welfare of its employees and
to delivering quality environmental sanitation services in support of national development.
