“Your likes and dislikes cannot determine the winner of December 7 elections ” the Ashanti Regional Chairman for New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Bosiako, widely known as Chairman Wontumi has stated.
According to him, the endorsement of a candidate by former president, John Dramani Mahama cannot guarantee a winner in the upcoming elections.
Speaking on Wontumi TV on 26th August, 2024, Chairman Wontumi emphatically stated that John Mahama’s disapproval of Dr. Bawumia’s candidacy is not a decisive factor in the election outcome.
“Mahama’s likes or dislikes will not the determine the winner of this elections. If he doesn’t like Bawumia, it mean he will win. He did the same thing to me.
Mahama ruined my industry in 2013, when he was the president. He seized my 500 excavators. Are you not frightened that after everything you did, I still hold my captaincy?” He quizzed.
“Why didn’t you halt your brother’s mining at Wassa Mpohor? You know, I, Chairman Wontumi is not intimidated and will never be afraid of you.
I presented my legal documents to you at Tamale, but due to your selfish gain, you went ahead to collapse my business. I will still stand firm on my feet but you are nothing without politics” he added.
