Ghanaian actress and model, Efia Odo has hanged her fighting gloves and begged to be allowed go into hiding to gather her thoughts.
Efia who has been very vocal and instrumental in the FixTheCountry campaign said she was going on a hiatus to save her Sanity.
In a post sighted by GhanaCelebrities.Com, the actress highlighted that the fight for a better Ghana has taken a heavy toll on her health.
She stated that she never thought things would escalate that fast and than made the mental burden too heavy for her.
Efia Odo emphasized that she is still for peace and equality and her heart and intentions remains as pure as gold but her love for this country and humanity has turned into something.
Her new stance is as a result of the recent murder of Kaaka and the shooting that happened at Ejura when angry youth stormed the street to demand for justice.
“I will like to take this time to let you all know that I’m going on a Haitus. My mental health is at stake at the moment. My love for this country and humanity has turned into something I am not, political. I am of peace and equality. My heart and intentions are as pure as gold. Things are too heavy right now. Take care,” she wrote online.
She was accused of the death of Kaaka and she went on live radio to break down in tears so it is not surprising that she is calling for a break.
Social media users have reacted to Efia’s fallback and told her not to have joined the fight if she knew she had soft ribs to contain punches.
They asked that if Africa would have gained freedom if freedom fighters like Nelson Mandela and Dr. Kwame Nkrumah had quit.
