The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party has reacted to a press conference which was addressed by the defeated flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress stating that he only showed up to lie to them.
The 2020 flagbearer of the NDC, Mr. Mahama in an address to his party supporters on Thursday, December 10, 2020, described the just ended elections as fraudulent.
He used the platform to attack the Electoral Commission of Ghana alleging that the body had connived with the incumbent government to rob the NDC. Among the places he cited as areas where electoral malpractices took place, he stated that it was widespread in the Ashanti region.
But the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, denied the claims by the former President. According to the NPP Chairman popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, the votes recorded in the Ashanti region were genuine and not generated to favour the NPP.
According to Chairman Wontumi, Mr. Mahama knows he has failed to in the Ashanti region and would do anything to discredit the NPP.
He ended by stating that instead of “Mr. Mahama pleading to the base of NDC, he showed up to lie to them.”
