You Learnt “Foolish” Economics At 6th Form- Chairman Wontumi Fires Mahama

Akonta Mining Saga: It Is Clear John Mahama HATES Chairman Wontumi- Dr. Kwarteng Forkuo

Claims by former President John Mahama that he studied some economics at 6th form has been challenged by Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, the Ashanti regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Mr. Antwi-Boasiako alias Chairman Wontumi, branded the economic lessons taken by Mr. John Mahama at school as “foolish” noting that it was the reason, he collapsed the economy of Ghana when he was given the mandate to rule as President.

“You didn’t learn proper economics at 6th form; if you really did learn, you wouldn’t have brought ‘dumsor’ or collapsed businesses in Ghana”, Chairman Wontumi said.

He further lashed out at the 2020 flagbearer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) insisting that if because he (Mahama) was a bad student, he didn’t even know that little economics would teach him to get raw materials before setting up the Komenda Sugar Factory.

Former President John Dramani Mahama has accused the current government of deliberately failing to operationalise the Komenda Sugar Factory.

The $35 million factory, built from an Indian EXIM Bank facility, has not worked since its commissioning in 2016.

“I’m not that foolish to set up a factory and have no plan for the provision of raw materials. I knew what the vision was. It was to get the raw materials first, and when we start production, we would have already had a processing plant,” he added.

But President Nana Akufo-Addo, says the decision taken by his predecessor, John Dramani Mahama, to build the Komenda Sugar factory, without first establishing a sugarcane plantation, betrays every principle of construction.

“It is like building a house, and say you are going to start from the roof, before you have a foundation. How does the house get built? You going to start from the roof, when you haven’t built the foundation?” President Akufo-Addo asked.

Abd adding to this, Chairman Wontumi maintained that Mahama was “foolish” not distinguish himself well when he was negotiating to build the sugar factory.
