You have the potential, but do not involve yourself in State Owned properties – Lawyer Kusi to Agric Minister.

A senior lawyer with Dominion Chambers, Lawyer William Kusi has admonished the Member of Parliament for Abetifi, who also doubles as the Minister of Food and Agriculture, Bryan Acheampong to take a right stance regarding SSNIT’s decision to sell its 60% shares to his company.

He asserted that, the Minister’s acceptance of the offer may mar the ruling government’s electoral prospects.

The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has announced its decision to sell 60% stake in four hotels to the Minister, who is also the owner of Rock City Hotel Limited

Responding to this in an interview on Wontumi TV, on October 22, 2024, Mr Kusi stated that it is not ethical for Bryan Acheampong to engage in such act.

“We made noise when politicians bought state properties in previous years and we will not be ignorant about the same issue. We would not second to bad deed. Let us draw the line between business and politics.

Fortunately for Bryan, he is endowed with money and has expertise in investment, but the point is, will it be ethical if he does that at this crucial time?” He quizzed.

He further entreated the Minister to disregard business deals involving State Owned properties.

“We are speaking about this because we want to retain power on December 7. Let’s try and avoid what will discredit the NPP. You are a gentleman and have the potential. There are numerous hotels in Ghana you can buy, and avoid partnering with SSNIT” he stressed.
