You Froze Employment, Denied Workers Salaries…Gov’t Won’t Copy Senchi Dialogue- David Boakye Tells JM

The Bono East Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. David Boakye, has called on government not to heed to the call by former President John Mahama to emulate the Senchi dialogue which was organized under his tenure to solve economic issues.

Mr. Boakye indicated that the outcome of the Senchi dialogue which was organized by the erstwhile government of Mr. Mahama, was a blot on the economy and failed to achieve any meaningful purpose to ease the economic pressure.

According to Mr. Mahama when he encountered troubles with the economy when he was President, he called a dialogue at Senchi.

“That is why I called for a national dialogue. I said bring the best brains together. I have been president before, it served me well. I called the Senchi Forum, it didn’t reduce my stature as President.”

But speaking on Wontumi TV which was monitored by Wontumionline.com, Mr. David Boakye stated that the outcome of the Senchi dialogue was that the government of former President John Mahama had to freeze public sector employment and deny workers their salaries.

If he (Mahama) wants us (NPP) to listen to him then it means we have to freeze employment. This is what he is suggesting to this government if he is talking about Senchi dialogue”, Mr. Boakye said.

He continued that with Me. Mahama’s call for a replica of the Senchi dialogue, he is suggesting that if government workers work for 3 months, they should be paid for only a month.
