“You didn’t even commission a single project that your own father begun” the district chief executive for Sekyere Kumawu, Samuel Addai Agyekum has stated.
According to him, former president of the Republic, John Dramani Mahama in his tenure of office neglected the projects that were initiated by the late John Ata Mills.
“Former president John Agyekum Kufuor and late Mills begun most of the projects in Ashanti region. It was expected of Mahama to at least proceed with what his own father and party member left, even though he abandoned that of Kufuor ” he said.
Speaking in an interview on Silver FM, sighted by Otixpress on 22nd March, 2024, Mr Agyekum recounted the need for continuity of government’s projects, as it contributes effectively to nation building.
He further commended the Akufo-Addo led administration for completing several state projects that were abandoned by the opposition NDC.
“The only project Mahama commissioned was in Doodowa, leaving the rest hanging. NDC for the past eight years never prioritised our health facilities in Ashanti region”
What they were interested in was conducting research with the allocated money to hospitals. It was the NPP and its leadership that completed Fomena, Tepa, Konongo and soon to be completed Kumawu hospital respectively ” he added.
He However mentioned that, the NDC was not committed to projects in Ashanti region.
