After a Supreme Court ruling that three mining leases granted Ibrahim Mahama by former President John Mahama were null and void, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has stated that the two brothers are still bruised and worried they couldn’t seal the bauxite deal.
It is on the above premise that Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako stated that Mr. Mahama is promising to hand over every concession to individuals who have lost theirs.
Speaking on the Wontumi Morning Show which was monitored by Wontumionline.com, the NPP Chairman known as Chairman Wontumi noted that it was out greed and thievery that the former President is making the promise.
According to him, Mr. Mahama wants to connive with his brother Ibrahim Mahama and steal a national asset worth $460 billion.
“You (John Mahama) want to give the country’s bauxite worth $460 billion to your brother. This would never happen”, he swiped at the former President.
At the tail end of John Mahama’s presidency when he had lost the 2016 elections, he granted a company belonging to his brother Ibrahim Mahama a long lease bauxite concession at Nyinahin.
During his visit to Manhyia, the flagbearer of the NDC Mr. Mahama promised to give back all mining concessions that were taken away from its original owners.
But Chairman Wontumi maintains that the former President made the statement because he hasn’t changed from his ways of robbing the nation.
