The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has revealed that the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, Mr. John Dramani Mahama, is broke and that is the reason he suspended his tour to the Bono Region.
In an interview on the Wontumi Morning Show, the NPP Chairman popularly known as Chairman Wontumi stated that the NDC is using a chunk of its campaign funds to bus people to places their flagbearer tours and this is having a negative effect on their coffers.
Former President John Mahama cut short his tour of the Bono Region on Tuesday, 22 September 2020 and announced that he was took the decision due to several complaints with regards to anomalies in the ongoing voter exhibition exercise.
But according to Chairman Wontumi, the former President isn’t getting the natural attention from voters anytime he visits an area.
The situation in his view is forcing Mr. Mahama to create a false impression that he has the numbers and has developed a strategy which is to use his party’s campaign funds and his personal money to bus people to follow him.
“You claim you have suspended your tour and the main reason is that you have come to a realization that your tour is not fruitful. Your money is also finished and anytime you move, unless your party bus people for you”, the NPP Chairman stated on the show.
