Wontumi's Influence Gives Ashanti Region 10 Deputy Ministers

Under the leadership of Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, ten (10) Members of Parliament have been appointed as deputy ministers to serve in the second of President Akufo-Addo.

The ten (10) deputy ministers from Ashanti region who made the list are:

1. Hon. John Ampontuah Kumah- Finance Ministry

2. Hon. William Owuraku Aidoo – Energy Ministry

3. Hon. Augustine Collins Ntim – Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development Ministry

4. Hon Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong – Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration Ministry

5. Diana Asonaba Dapaah- Office of Attorney General and Ministry of Justice Ministry

6. Hon. Yaw Frimpong Addo – Food and Agriculture Ministry

7. Mavis Nkansah-Boadu – Roads and Highways Ministry

8. Kofi Amankwa-Manu – Defence Ministry

9. Hon Ama Pomaa Boateng – Communications and Digitalisation Ministry

10. Hon. Kwaku Asante Boateng – Railway Development Ministry

In an official list made public by the Director of Communications at the Office of the President, Mr. Eugene Arhin, explained that the President is hopeful that just as was done for his Ministers, Parliament will, on a bi-partisan basis, expedite the approval of his Deputy Ministerial nomineees, so they can join the government forthwith and assist in the delivery of his mandate for his second term in office.

The influence of Mr. Antwi-Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi in the 2020 elections, certainly contributed to the reward President Akufo-Addo has blessed the region with in the selection of ministers and deputy ministers to serve in his government.

It would be recalled that the Ashanti region in the 2020 elections gave the New Patriotic Party a massive vote of 1,793,773.
