Wontumi Nationwide Sports Declares One Week To Mourn Maradona, Wontumi Announces

The Chief Executive for Wontumi Communications, Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako has declared one week mourning on Wontumi Nationwide Sports for the late former Argentine football legend, Diego Armando Maradona Franco.

Speaking on the Wontumi Nationwide Sports on Wontumi Radio/TV, Chairman Wontumi said that, the team led by King Eben should let the funeral be defensively theirs.

He announced that, the head of sports, King Eben would be the clan head, Oheneba as the secretary, Abu Diaby would run errands, Edison would be the messenger, Clifford would welcome the visitors and Bishop Atta Poku would entertain them.

He added that, the General Manager for Wontumi Communications, Kofi Agyei popularly known as ‘Away Bus’ would cater for the ‘nsabode’

“We are taking the funeral on our laps because Maradona is a legend no one can argue about.” He stressed

According to him, the former Napoli star is the best player he has ever seen.

According to the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, it is only the former Barcelona and Brazilian footballer, Ronaldinho De Assis Moreiea Gaucho who can be compared to Maradona.

“The world will miss Diego Maradona. His passion for football was exceptional.” He said

He however tasked, Kumasi Asante Kotoko to win their CAF Champions league match against FC Nouadhibou on Friday 27th November 2020 to honour the late football legend.

The football legend had a heart attack at his home just two weeks after leaving hospital where he underwent surgery on a blot clot in his brain.

Maradona, regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time, helped Argentina win the World Cup in 1986, the pinnacle of an illustrious career.

He played club football for Boca Juniors, Napoli and Barcelona among others and was adored by millions all over the world for his brilliant skills.

Maradona was responsible for the infamous ‘Hand of God’ that eliminated England from the 1986 tournament.

His career was also tinged with controversy because of drug and alcohol addiction.
