The Chief Executive Officer and Management of Wontumi Multimedia wishes to render an unqualified apology to the Asanteman Council, over a recent unguarded utterance made by Lawyer Maurice Ampaw that has tarnished the sanctity and image of the Kingdom of Ashanti.
Management finds the unsavory verbal attack on Nananom which was made on a live television programme ,” Amammuo ne Abrabo Mu Nsem” on Sunday, 21st January 2024. unethical, unwarranted, disrespectful, unnecessary and condemns it as such.
As an immediate interim step to avoid a re-occurrence of any such unbecoming behaviour by Lawyer Ampaw, Management has decided to suspend forthwith, the programme, “Amanmu ne Abrabo Mu Nsem” which he is the sole host.
It is hoped that this and other drastic measures to be taken can assuage the pain Lawyer Ampaw’s conduct has inflicted on Nananom.
Aside this, management wishes to emphasize that it has taken the necessary precaution to prevent any such loose talk in future on all of its programmes both on radio and television by its entire staff. This measure is to ensure that the cordial relationship that had existed between the station since it was established four year ago could be restored.
Meanwhile, management is on its knees pleading with Manhyia which is an integral part of the country’s cherished chieftaincy institution for forgiveness and vows that no such despicable act will be tolerated on any of its platforms.
It may be recalled that immediately management realized the severity of the harm the programme had caused the cherished image of Manhyia, the General Manager, Kofi Agyei a.k.a. Away Bus and the legal counsel for Wontumi Multimedia, Mr Adom Appiah made a special appearance on Wontumi TV/Radio’s late afternoon political talk show programme, “Talk Ghana” on Monday, January 22, 2024 to plead with Nananom for forgiveness. This is as a clear demonstration of how remorseful we have been.
We wish to assure Nanananom that Wontumi Multimedia will continue to protect, defend and uphold the integrity, image and the authority of Manhyia.
We hope Nananom would accept our apology.
