Wontumi Donates Blocks To help Ejisu NPP Chairman Reconstruct His Burnt House
The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP Bernard Antwi Boasiako, fondly called, Chairman Wontumi , has donated 5000 pieces of concrete blocks to the NPP Chairman for Ejisu, Mr S.O Frimpong, to re-construct his building which was gutted by fire in December 2020.
The incident happened a day after the last general elections were held. Mr. Frimpong’s misfortune attracted a lot of sympathy from the public some of who strongly suspected arson.
Explaining the gesture, Chairman Wontumi said it was to help the Ejisu Chairman to as quickly as possible, re-build his house so he can live decently with his family.
According to media reports, “the fire started from one of the rooms of Mr. Frempong’s daughters before spreading to the adjoining rooms.
It was also reported that the other occupants of the house were able to escape before the blazing fire could engulf the whole house
An eyewitness was also quoted as disclosing that, “due to the intensity of the fire, it prevented none of the occupants to salvage their valuable properties kept in their rooms before personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service could arrive with their fire-fighting equipment.”
“Unfortunately, the fire fighters arrived after the blaze had already engulfed the whole edifice.“He said.
Speaking to Wontumi Radio, after the presentation of the blocks, Mr Frimpong expressed his profound gratitude to Chairman Wontumi and other donors for their support.
According to him, Chaiman Wontumi in particular, constantly showed concern by sending him words of encouragement to sympathize with him, “in his most trying moments.”
