The Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has thrown a subtle jab at some members of the National Democratic Congress serving on the Appointment Committee of Parliament.
He likened the posture of some NDC legislators who are deliberately frustrating ministerial nominees of President Akufo-Addo during vetting to men who “service their girlfriends better than they do to their nation”.
Speaking on Wontumi TV which was monitored by Wontumionline.com, the NPP Chairman popularly known as Chairman Wontumi stated that “if they go to their girls they do it swift but when it comes to serving the nation, they stall the process. You service your girlfriends better than Ghana.”
He explained that they have made the vetting process look like they are at war with the nominees selected by President Akufo-Addo.
In his view, most of the nominees are people who have served in government before and appeared before them to be vetted. He therefore wondered the reason behind the move for some NDC legislator to stretch the process.
