Women Can Perform Better When Given Enough Opportunity – Judith Oteng Marfo
The Director of Royalton International Academy, Mrs. Judith Oteng Marfo has advocated for enough opportunity for women to help build Ghana’s quest for a better economy.
According to her, women can perform excellently better when given the opportunity.
Speaking on a panel discussion on Akoma FM’s flagship programme, GhanAkoma and monitored by Wontumionline.com, she told sit-in-host, Beatrice Spio Garbrah that women are better managers because of their traditional roles at home.
The all women affair programme coincided with the International Women’s Day under the discourse, “Celebrating International Women’s Day: Reintegrating Women To Solving Social Challenges”.
Mrs. Oteng Marfo explained that women when given the opportunity and necessary push, will demystify the kitchen relegated role for women.
“We are specially made to do things better. All we need now is a major push to occupy sensitive positions,”she emphasized.
Mrs.Oteng Marfo, an Entrepreneur, Women’s Advocate and former Broadcaster, believes that when women are encouraged to move on, they would be more impactful.
She expressed unhappiness about the unpalatable descriptions given to women who have solely made it to the top saying such unnecessary adjectives discourage women to display their talents.
“It’s so sad that when women are able to make it to the top, people describe them with so many words to discourage them. In Ghana when a woman works hard to the top, they say she has offered her body. This must stop,”she fumed.
The other panel on the discussion were the MCE for Oforikrom, Gloria Temma Gambra and the Bantama NDC Constituency Communication Officer, Benewa Gyasi.
