The Ahafo Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Owusu Sekyere, has discouraged victims of the Akosombo Dam spillage not to fall for the propaganda statement made by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for North Tongu and the former deputy minister of education that the NPP has deliberately opened the Dam to cause the displacement of residents in the affected areas and their voters ID cards to prevent them from voting in the 2024 general elections.
Speaking in an interview on Wontumi TV, he emphasized that the statement made by the member of parliament was unacceptable, describing it at a lose talk from a member of parliament.
Chairman Sekyere alleged that the MP in one of his addresses says the NPP opened the Dam so the affected victims will misplace their voters ID cards in other not to vote in the 2024 election.
