“We Want To See The First Class Railway Network You Promised” – Nana Obiri Boahen To Government

Mahama Has All The Money But No Influence In The NDC Now- Nana Obiri Boahen

Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen, a former deputy general secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed regret over the high number of fatalities reported in the first two months of 2024.

The National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) reports that during the aforementioned period, there were 2,260 recorded traffic crashes involving 3,910 vehicles, which led to 369 fatalities, 2,552 injuries, and 381 pedestrian knockdowns.

Attorney Nana Obiri Boahen bemoaned how concerning it is that there have been so many accidents reported in the first two months of this year.

“It is quite tragic and unsettling to live in a nation where accidents have claimed the lives of this many people in just two months. People are concerned about the standard between the presidency and the parliament, but we are not addressing our inadequate road system,” he stated in an interview.

According to Nana Obiri Boahen Esq., if Akufo-Addo constructs a first-rate railway network, there will be less carnage on the roads.

President Akufo-Akufo-Addo has promised to revamp the railway sector by building a first-class railway network in Ghana.

The President made the promise when he addressed some workers of the Ghana Railway Company Limited (GRWCL) in Tema in 2019 but the citizens are yet to see the first-class railway network.

Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen said, “We want to see the trains. NPP has built more infrastructure in terms of roads than any government but we want to see the train.”

He said Ghana has been endowed by God with an abundance of natural resources, but it has not taken advantage of its blessings.
