‘What Can He Do In Four Years?’- Chairman Wontumi Questions Mahama’s Intentions

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi has thrown down the gauntlet, declaring that the NPP will do everything in their power to force former President John Mahama into a debate with Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

“We are going to force Mahama to debate Bawumia,” Chairman Wontumi said in an interview. “We can’t let him hide behind his excuses and avoid defending his record. The Ghanaian people deserve to know the truth.”

According to Chairman Wontumi, the debate would focus on the economy, governance, vision, and development, areas where he believes Dr. Bawumia has a clear advantage.

“Mahama can’t run from his past,” Chairman Wontumi said. “He needs to explain why he failed to deliver on his promises, and why he thinks he deserves another chance. Dr. Bawumia, on the other hand, has a proven track record of success, and we’re confident he’ll come out on top.”

The challenge has sparked a heated debate, with some calling it a distraction, while others see it as an opportunity for Mahama to redeem himself.

Mahama’s camp has yet to respond to the challenge, but insiders say he’s unlikely to accept, citing concerns about the format and moderators.

Chairman Wontumi, however, remains undeterred. “We’ll make sure the debate happens, one way or another,” he vowed. “The Ghanaian people deserve to see these two leaders go head-to-head, and we won’t rest until it happens.”

The stage is set for a thrilling showdown, with the nation eagerly awaiting Mahama’s response to the challenge. Will he accept, or will he find a way to wriggle out of it? Only time will tell.
