Voters’ Register: Prophecies Of Doom Didn’t Materialize- President Mocks

The President of the Republic, Nana Akufo-Addo, has congratulated the Electoral Commission chaired by Jane Mensah for a successful nationwide voters’ registration exercise.

He said that, the exercise was safe and transparent.

Addressing Ghanaians on update number 15 on measures taken to curb the spread of the Coronavirus and monitored by Wontumionline.com he added that, the exercise was overwhelmingly done orderly and peaceful.

“It was the first time Ghanaians were providing update of voters’ registration exercise and eligible voters were given opportunity to register,” he said

Nana Akufo-Addo indicated that, those who swore with their lives not to allow the exercise to function took part in the exercise.

“Some people who chastised the government to truncate the exercise because of the COVID-19 were also seen partaking in the exercise.”

His Excellency said, “the prophecies of doom by some people on the voters’ register did not materialize.”

Nana Akufo-Addo emphasized that, he is proud to be the President of Ghana in this difficult times.

“We will continue to work hard to prove the naysayers wrong. We know it is affecting lives and livelihood but it is my core responsibility as a President to protect the population and provide relief,” he affirmed.
