The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, is calling on residents of Volta region to demand development and to bring to an end, the National Democratic Congress’ way of using them as a footstool during elections.

The NPP Chairman in an interview on the Wontumi Morning Show which was monitored by Wontumionline.com, stated that the time is now for the people of Volta to demand developments from politicians and make political decision which would benefit their generations to come.

Mr. Antwi-Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi noted that the NDC had disrespected the region for a very long time and it is about time they changed their voting pattern.

Chairman Wontumi explained that “Volta region needs development and not the NDC”.

He touted some of the developments President Akufo-Addo has taken to the region adding that the NDC could not boast of any meaningful project to a region they have claimed is their stronghold.

President Akufo-Addo is blessing the region with portable water, schools and massive development, what did Mahama do for them when he was President”, Chairman Wontumi quizzed.

On Thursday, 27th August 2020, President Akufo-Addo visited the Volta region and in an address at Keta, he noted that “I dare say this area (Anloga) has done quite well under this Government. After years of demanding, an Anloga District has been created, and a new Assembly Complex is being constructed.

There are numerous GETFund projects scattered all over Anloga, and Keta SHS’s is one which I am due to commission today. Important to me are two TVET projects in the Anloga district alone, one of which I shall be inspecting at Atorkor,” he stressed.

President Akufo-Addo also talked about the construction of the Keta landing beach project which commences in September and the €85 million facility for the Keta Water Supply rehabilitation and expansion project, and the Keta Harbour Project.
