As part of an effort to improve ICT education, MTN Ghana has donated 4 laptops to New Asafo Basic School as its Mark Y’ello Care event.
MTN Ghana Chief Executive Officer, Selorm Adadevoh performed the donation.
Before the donation, Selorm Adadevoh paid a courtesy call on the Municipal Chief Executive of Asokwa Constituency, Hon. Akwannuasa Gyimah.
Some staff of MTN Ghana engaged in classroom interaction with the students.
Speaking with journalists after the donation, the MTN Ghana CEO said the Telecommunication giant marks 21 days of Y’ello Care in June annually and launch different initiatives.
Selorm Adadevoh said this year the focus is on ICT and Digital Skill Training for school.
He emphasised that ICT has become extremely important globally.
He implied that Ghana will be left out of the global competitiveness if we don’t start to educate the students in ICT.
Selorm Adadevoh stressed that the goal of MTN Ghana is to support everything the government is doing in ICT.

The headteacher of the school, Madam Grace Opoku Konadu on behalf of the school commended Selorm Adadevoh for the kind gesture.
Madam Opoku Konadu said the laptops will improve ICT education in the school.
She added that the laptops will prepare the final year students adequately for their final exam.
The headteacher bemoaned that, New Asafo Basic School Computer Laboratory lacks laptops therefore she pleaded with MTN Ghana to come to their aid.
