A Senior Lecturer with the Kumasi Technical University (KsTU), Dr. Ishaq Kyei-Brobbey has warned former President Mahama not to wade into issues of taxes since he left behind a rotten record as President.
Speaking on the Wontumi Morning Show, Dr. Ishaq Kyei-Brobbey further cautioned the failed flagbearer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) not to rely on his social media handles to take a swipe at the Akufo-Addo led government since he would always be exposed.
In celebrating workers on May Day, former President John Mahama urged the government to ensure a stable supply of power and water.
He also talked about taxes noting that “Incidentally, an increase in existing taxes & introduction of new ones, and which take effect from today, May Day, is leading to steep rises in the prices of fuel, food & every basic item.”

But Dr. Ishaq Kyei-Brobbey stopped him in his tracks by responding that Mr. Mahama doesn’t “have a good record so don’t wade into some matters on social media… we will place a mirror before you so that you see your true reflections“.
He maintained that as a former government official, Mr. Mahama had served in all capacities and that Ghanaians have seen a government headed by him introduce unnecessary taxes.
“We can’t have a dispassionate approach to the matter if it comes from you. You have failed the country before and we will question you”, Dr. Ishaq Kyei-Brobbey warned.
