The Bono Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has responded to comments by former President John Mahama that the persons that represented his party as polling agents during the 2020 elections were illiterate.
According to NPP Chairman known as Kwame Baffoe, stated that Mr. Mahama is “power drunk” and forgets he has to show respect to the very people who helped him at the polling station level.
He wondered why Mr. Mahama would speak against the free Senior High School (SHS) policy started by the Akufo-Addo led government if he knows illiteracy has to be combated.
Kwame Baffoe aka described Mr. Mahama on Wontumi TV as “a man who is power drunk so speaks anyhow. So he now knows his people are not educated yet he was against free SHS.”

The former President and 2020 flagbearer for the NDC has indicated that so far the main opposition party has held two retreats to analyze the party’s performance in the 2020 election.
According to him, illiteracy is to be blamed for the woes the NDC suffered in last year’s elections.
Mr. Mahama is on record to have said that “every region was asked to account for its performance in the 2020 elections. They came with reports and there was one region who stated that ‘some of our party agents were illiterate, they could not read or write…and the chairman asked, but who made them party agents?“.
