Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako’s decision to contest and maintain his position as Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party’s has sent shivers down the spines of all political parties in the region, a stanch member of the Progressive People’s Party has confessed.
Mr. Richard Boadu in an interview on the Wontumi Morning Show openly confessed that executives of every other party in the Ashanti Region know how strategic and valuable the current NPP Chairman has been for his party and for that reason, seeking re-election would further weaken their chance of making an impact in the region.
The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Mr. Antwi-Boasiko popularly known as Chairman Wontumi is seeking to maintain his position as Ashanti Regional Chairman for his party.
Under his leadership as Ashanti Regional Chairman, the NPP which was in opposition, won the 2016 general elections with his region contributing massively.
In 2020, he was credited for being instrumental in the in ensuring the NPP’s vote from the Ashanti region improved to help President Akufo-Addo’s government maintain political power.
