(Video) Uncovered: Presidential Forest In Ghana Where Akufo-Addo's Name Has Been Linked To Galamsey
President Akufo-Addo

President Akufo-Addo has a mountain to climb in dealing with the issue of galamsey.

It has been uncovered that there is a forest in Ghana that has been named Presidential Forest and the activities there are contrary to what President Akufo-Addo stands for when it comes to dealing with illegal mining in Ghana.

The Bono Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party, Kwame Baffoe has dropped a video tape that details how some unscrupulous persons in government have managed to turn a forest in Sefwi Wiawso into a galamsey site and named the place Presidential Forest.

Delivering a monologue on Wontumi TV’s Nsempa Fie show, the NPP Chairman popularly known as Abronye indirectly named Kwaku Asomah-Cheremeh as the man behind the activity.

“He (Asomah-Cheremeh) has captured a forest and named it Presidential Forest where he has his own guys engaging galamsey there”, Abronye quipped.

He went on to describe Asomah-Cheremeh as “criminal” who has stabbed President Akufo-Addo in the back.

Kwaku Asomah-Cheremeh, a former Lands and Natural Resources Minister is alleged to have conspired with some DCEs to drive away persons they know would report and expose their illegal action when he took over from Hon. Peter Amewu.

According to Abronye, Asomah-Cheremeh and his cabal managed to setup a senior military officer because he refused to take $1 to $2 million bribe from some illegal miners.

“When Amewu left officer, his successor conspired with some DCEs and went to lie to the President that the officer was rather engaging in galamsey”, Abronye said.

He therefore called on current Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Abu Jinapor to go after Asomah-Cheremeh’s boys since they are still in the Presidential Forest engaging in illegal mining.
