A political and trend analyst, Nana Oteatuoso Kokobeng II, has predicted that the Presidential light is on Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia and not former President John Dramani Mahama.
Analyzing the chances of the two candidates who represent the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC) in winning the 2024 Presidential elections, Nana Oteatuoso Kokobeng II simply stated that Bawumia edges Mahama.
Addressing the issue on Wontumi Morning Show which was monitored by Wontumionline.com, the political analyst however warned executives of the NPP develop a new strategy and approach their internal election to elect a flagbearer in a different way.
According to him, the NDC would surely repeat Mr. John Mahama as their candidate in 2024 and for this reason, the NPP would do all they can to ensure light on Bawumia is not dimed.
“They are still going to repeat Mahama so the strategy and approach by NPP must be different from what they used to do…the star is on Bawumia and naming him earlier as flagbearer would do us good then going about the process later“, he said.
Nana Oteatuoso Kokobeng II further observed that he knows that electing Dr. Bawumia as flagbearer could stir some internal wrangling but added that it is better to have it and resolve it earlier than wait.
“We expect that there would be some troubles but the executives must work on it. The light is on Bawumia so you cant take him out.
The presidential light is on him.. despite our constitution saying we should elect a presidential candidate 11 months to an elections we must do something in naming that person early“, he advised.
