(VIDEO) The Arise Ghana Protesters Packed Stones In A Vehicle, Says Jennifer Queen

Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party(NPP), Jennifer Queen has alleged the stones the protesters pelted at the police during the demonstration were parked in a car.

According to Jennifer Queen, there is no stone from Kwame Nkrumah Circle through to the Ridge traffic light and the other stretches they plied.

She said on Wontumi TV Morning Show that, this is a clear indication that the protesters packed the stones in a car.

She described the action of the protesters as unwise.

Background

The Arise Ghana organisers announced the start of the street march shortly after 2:30 pm from the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange.

The protestors were met with resistance at the Circle overhead.

The Police responded to the throwing of stones from some protestors with teargas and water canons forcing the protestors back towards the circle.

The clash was over a disagreement in the route the protestors were using for the march.

They had announced that they would march from Circle to Nima, then to Ako Adjei and Jubilee House.

The Police met them with resistance under the overhead.

Meanwhile, the police issued a statement explaining that 12 officers have been injured with police vehicles damaged by the protestors.

The police said they have arrested 29 persons and will arraign the organizers to court.
