The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Great Consolidated Popular Party, Kofi Omar has opined that the success of President Akufo-Addo in his second term would determine whether Ghanaians would love to keep the New Patriotic Party in power.
In addressing the issue of whether Vice President Bawumia or Mr. Alan Kyeremanten should be made the next flagbearer of the NPP, Chairman Kofi Omar noted that the elders of the party need to hold a broader consultation before opening nominations for candidates to contest.
He pointed out that either Dr. Bawumia or Mr. Kyeremanten can win power for the NPP if made flagbearer but quickly added that “it all depends on the success of President Akufo-Addo”.
Chairman Omar stated that the NPP also need to incorporate the services of Chairman Wontumi, Abronye, Kennedy Agyapong and certain few people in the fight to win 2024.
