The current national executives of the National Democratic Congress didn’t learn how to respectfully live with the late former President John Rawlings, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Great Consolidated Popular Party, Kofi Owusu Omar, has said.
Comparing treatment meted out to both former President John Agyekum Kufuor and the late former President Rawlings by their respective parties, Mr. Omar, explained that the latter was never accorded the respect he deserved for forming the NDC.
Before former President Rawlings joined his ancestors, Chairman Omar noted that the current leaders of the NDC “insulted him and had no respect for him…They used social media to denigrate him.”
He admitted that history has taught many that the late former President and founder of the NDC had his own flaws, but is saddened his own party members failed to learn to live with him.
“NDC members are ashamed. NPP also have their founding founder alive and no one openly attacks him like the way NDC did to Jerry when he was alive. He was not a perfect man but they didn’t learn to live with him”, Chairman Omar noted.
