Ghana’s social media space was printed with news of sorrow as a popular comedian and media personality Baba Spirit was reported to have passed away.
The reports of Baba’s demise came up on social media on Thursday, September 8, 2022, a few hours after the Queen of England’s death.
According to reports, the actor and comedian died at a hospital in Kumasi, an Ashanti Region suburb after a short illness.
Details of his death have been scanty but a video of Baba Spirit detailing the cause of his illness and mentioning some suspects surfaced a few hours after his demise.
In the video sighted on social media, Baba Spirit was heard granting an interview and accusing industry mates of trying to end his life with dark magic.
He said he was taken to a fetish priest by some jealous friends who thought he was getting more famous and rich than them.
Baba Spirit, who was a television show host at that time, said he had quit the media for good because he values his life and wouldn’t want it wasted by a wicked person.
When asked how sure he was that he was bewitched Baba Spirit said his illness was not physical as medical reports proved he was fit yet he was dying.
