Members of Parliament aligned to the National Democratic Congress have lost interest in projecting their flagbearer as the winner of the 2020 Presidential elections, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Great Consolidated Popular Party, Kofi Owusu Omar, has remarked.
According to the astute politician, the NDC MPs who constitute minority in Parliament, are rather concerned about fighting for their individual interest in Parliament rather than showing interest in fighting for Mr. John Dramani Mahama to become President.
Making a submission on the Wontumi Morning Show, the GCPP executive stated that “they (NDC MPs) have rejected Mahama and fighting for parliamentary seats”.
He continued that “they don’t want Mahama to be President, why are they not fighting for him? They don’t care about Mahama all they care about controlling Parliament house”.
Speaking on the scuffle that broke out between the Police and some minority MPs who forcefully wanted to petition the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Mr. Kofi Owusu Omar explained that it was wrong for the MPs not to serve the Police before embarking on the process.
“They (minority MPs) have shown that they don’t understand the laws of Parliament. They should have sent prior notice to the EC before going there”, he said.
