Vice President Bawumia has underscored that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is walking into the 2020 elections with a defeatist attitude.
His reasons comes on the back on a statement from the flagbearer of the NDC, John Mahama that his party will not accept the results of the 2020 general elections should it deem the process as unfair.
Mr. Mahama made the above statement at the NDC’s 28th Anniversary and warned that though his party is committed to a peaceful electoral process, “let nobody assume that we will accept the results of a flawed election.”
Reacting to this message on Wontumi TV and Radio which was monitored by Wontumionline.com, Vice President Bawumia stated that “I have heard some people say that they won’t accept the results of the elections if it doesn’t go their way. The elections are yet to be conducted. This is a defeatist attitude. It is as if they know they will lose the elections.”
The Vice President stated that elections isn’t about war but rather about exchange of ideas.
“Everyone has the right to make an opinion on electoral matters. During our tour, we have been preaching about what the NPP has been able to do and it is based on what we say that we are convincing voters to retain us in power. We tell them what others have failed to do that we have been able to do”, he said.
