As opposition leader, John Dramani Mahama took a whooping sum of $4million dollars as bribe from Fifi Fiavi Kwetey and promised to name him his as running mate in 2020, the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, has alleged.
Kwame Baffoe in an interview on Wontumi TV last Saturday stated that the people of Volta had preferred the 2020 flagbearer for the NDC to partner former Member of Parliament for the Ketu South constituency but had their hopes dashed when Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang was named.
Prior to the nomination of Prof. Opoku-Agyemang in 2020, Kwame Baffoe popularly known as Abronye stated that Fifi Kwetey made a deposit of $4million into the accounts of Mr. Mahama and was told he would get the position.
“Voltarians preferred to Mahama to name Fifi Kwetey as his running mate. He paid $4million for that position and wants his money back but Mahama is avoiding him and doesn’t even show up at places he knows he will see Fifi”, Abronye said.
Assigning reasons that led to Mr. Mahama overlooking Fifi Kwetey, Abronye noted that the 2020 flagbearer feared the vocal factor of Fifi would make his party members fall in love with him and call for him to be their leader.
“If Mahama had partnered Fifi and lost the 2020 elections, Voltarians would have started agitating for him (Fifi) to be their leader and this is what Mahama saw and wants to avoid”, Abronye said.
He further described former President Mahama as an opposition flagbearerer who takes bribe.
