After failing to concede defeat in the aftermath of the 2020 Presidential elections, it is now emerging that the wife of former President John Mahama, Lordina Mahama, is mounting pressure on her husband to accept immediately accept defeat.
The above revelation was made by the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, on the Wontumi Morning Show.
According to the NPP Chairman popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, Mrs. Lordina Mahama had advised her husband to step out of the political scene and emulate the ways of former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan.
“Lordina Mahama is pressing her husband to concede defeat… she is concerned about the disgrace Mahama is bringing to their family and how people are insulting them. She told him to emulate Goodluck Jonathan but he refused. She knew from day one that her husband can never defeat President Akufo-Addo”, Chairman Wontumi said.
Former President Mahama is yet to concede defeat and congratulate President Akufo-Addo after the Electoral Commission announced the latter as winner of the 2020 Presidential elections.
President Akufo-Addo polled 51.59 percent of valid votes cast as against John Mahama’s 47.36 percent.
