A staunch member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and a private Legal Practitioner, Gabby Otchere-Darko has reprimanded the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, for fueling and spreading fake news in the country.
In an exclusive interview on the Wontumi Morning Show which was monitored by Wontumionline.com, Mr. Otchere-Darko stated that he expects the NDC scribe to be tactful when it comes speaking on certain issues.
He added that the vast experience of Mr. Asiedu Nketia puts him above the league of persons who have diabolic plans of spreading fake news.
In his view, the way senior members of the NDC are fanning the flames of fake news makes him believe that “it is like the opposition are preparing the ground for something. They are creating fear and anger in the country…They will drive people to grab arms… mixing fear and anger is very dangerous.”
Mr. Otchere-Darko slammed the NDC’s General Secretary describing him as a peddler of false news in Ghana.
“He (Asiedu Nketia) has experience as General Secretary than anybody in this country. For him to say 4000 weapons have been given to some vigilantes is bad…at the same time, his party’s Communications Director is also saying something bad”, he said.

In a related development, the Information Ministry of Ghana has alleged that the opposition, NDC is operating fake news websites and an institutionalized group of internet trolls aimed at interfering in political opinions and decision-making.
According to the ministry, the opposition in desperation to emerge victorious at the December 7 polls has gone to the extreme to even clone the official website of Graphic Ghana just to propagate demeaning news stories and rid the ruling government of the goodwill of the citizenry.
