A staunch member of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Opoku-Agyemang, has cautioned the leadership of the party to address and stop the seeping Alan-Bawumia factions from gaining momentum; warning that it could lead to an impending defeat if unchecked.
He advised that members of the NPP are all to support President Nana Akufo-Addo to succeed in his second term to make things easier for his successor to take over and break the 8 year political cycle in Ghana.
Speaking on the Wontumi Morning Show, Mr. Opoku-Agyemang noted that results from the 2020 elections, showns that there is work to be done to secure a resounding victory for the NPP in 2024.
He continued that the new wave of allowing factions aligned to Vice President Bawumia and Hon Alan Kyeremanten to have their way, could create a future trouble for the party.
According to him, it is early days yet to allow factions to dictate the direction of the party under President Akufo-Addo adding that even when the President had not be sworn-in, the factions started rearing their heads.
“If we all do not help President Akufo-Addo to work to please Ghanaians, even if we should go and elect an Angel as NPP’s flagbearer in 2024, we might find the elections very difficult”, Mr. Opoku-Agyemang said.
