Renowned Ghanaian actor and movie producer, Willian Addo who graced our screens as Akpatse is the latest creative arts person to join TT to publicly seek for financial assistance.
Whiles speaking with a reporter at Citi News, Akpatse begged Ghanaians to help him establish a corn mill shop that will help him to afford a three-square meal.
Akpatse also revealed that he hasn’t been able to use electricity for the past 5 years because he owes ECG 5,000 cedis.
In the course of sharing his ordeal with the general public, Willaim Addo requested the help of philanthropists to come to his aid because things are very tough for him at the moment which forces him to contemplate suicide sometimes.
Aside from the corn mill shop, the actor who has been in the movie industry for more than 3 decades also beseeched well to do Ghanaians to help him pay for his medical bills after suffering from a cardiac arrest some few months ago.
The trend of old movie stars adopting the internet to beg for money is now becoming worrisome. This is certainly not the first nor the last.
One would ask, what do these people use their monies for when they were cashing out during their prime years?
Although, actors and actresses have bitterly complained that they are not paid well by producers, all the same, something urgent must be done to put our creative arts people in better places when they retire.
