"Uncle" Afriyie Akoto Has Planted A lot Of Billboards But Is Struggling For Popularity- Dr. Afriyie

Dr. Samuel Afriyie is still trying hard to wrap his head around the popularity struggle Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto is facing despite mounting giant billboards around every corner of the country.

“My uncle Akoto has a lot of billboards around but he isn’t all that popular in the media space”, he said amusingly.

According to him the struggling the former Food and Agriculture Minister is facing shows that one could invest heavily in the media but won’t attract any attention.

“It doesn’t matter if you are making noise. If you don’t have substance to fall on, you may have a problem of connecting your media space and what you are doing”, he noted.

He therefore stated that investing in the media has to have a connection with a targeted audience by telling them “the work you are doing”.

He praised Dr. Bawumia, Alan Kyeremanten and Kennedy Agyapong for connecting their media message with their audience.

“Alan has also proven himself and is going round showing what he has done. You can’t just show up in the media and expect praises from the people- it comes along with what you have been able to accomplish”, Dr. Afriyie said.

On Kennedy Agyapong he pointed out that he “is also campaigning and telling people about what he has done, the businesses and what he intends to do. He has evidence to prove in the media space”.
