Thomas Kusi Boafo, the Chief executive officer for Public Sector Reforms says, some political parties are in the process of derailing the New Patriotic Party in Ashanti region.
This, he said, is because the Ashanti region is believed to be the fortress of the ruling NPP, where they secure majority votes in elections.
Speaking with Oheneba Nana Asiedu on Wontumi TV, on 2nd April, 2024, he recounted the concerted efforts made by the reference political parties to undermine the integrity of the NPP in the outlined region.
“They were successful in destroying the NPP even in the PNDC era. They tarnished the reputation of Northerners who migrated to the Ashanti region. They even established media houses with several affiliations all in the name of jeopardising the party” he said.
